Providing nonjudgmental therapy in California for all relationships and sexualities
Let’s Connect
It’s important to establish a connection and to see if we are a good fit to work together. I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation to connect and work to determine how we might collaborate on your goals.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in San Francisco, CA currently offering telehealth services to clients throughout California. I offer an open mind for those looking for non-judgmental support and counseling.
My clients have taught me, and so has my own life, that people steady themselves in spaces where they're not being judged. Where everything they feel and think is allowed to be there. That belief is the whole basis of how I work.
I'm a gay man. Coming into my identity, building chosen family, finding my footing in a world that wasn't designed for us — that informs my work in ways no credential could. I also try to hold my own assumptions loosely. My perspective as a white, cis, gay man carries its own privileges and blind spots, and my clients' lives may look nothing like mine. That's not a box I've checked. It's ongoing.
The work itself is person-centered. You're the expert on your own life, and my job is to be a warm, curious companion while you make sense of it. I draw on narrative therapy to look at the stories you've inherited or been handed, and to figure out which ones still serve you. I also work from Emotionally Focused Therapy, particularly around attachment and what happens between people.I'm especially drawn to clients who feel things deeply and process richly, and who sometimes find the pace and volume of ordinary life is a lot to carry.
Outside the therapy room, I'm usually cooking something, at the theater, or planning the next trip somewhere I haven't been.
You don't have to translate yourself here.
No justifying your relationships, no explaining your desires. We'll spend our sessions on what you actually came for.
